This lot from producer Laura Luiza Del Guerra Vergueiro is located in the high
mountains of Espirito Santo do Pinhal. This mountain chain is known as Serra da
Mantiqueira, which translated means the Mountain that Cries due to the large number
of water sources. The range supplies an important source of drinking water for most
cities in the southeast of Brazil.
Laura comes from a very traditional coffee growing family. Since the early 2000's,
Fazenda Nova Uniao has won several coffee quality awards in the state of São Paulo.
Most notably, she was the winner of the 12th São Paulo State Coffee Quality Contest in 2013. The farm has 60 hectares of yellow catuai and is located at 1,100 masl.
The carbon footprint from this coffee's journey has been offset twice.
This includes boiling your kettle to brew it.
