The Karimikui washing station is one of three stations that constitute the esteemed
Rungeto Farmers Coop Society. Established in 1953, the Rungeto Farmers Coop Society has grown to include 3507 smallholder members. Each with around a
hectare of land for cultivating coffee alongside vegetable crops to support their families.
The region boasts fertile and nutrient-rich red volcanic soil, providing an ideal foundation for coffee growth. This, with high altitudes, and ample rainfall contribute to the unique terroir, ultimately shaping its distinct flavors and characteristics. The farmers within the cooperative take pride in their meticulous cultivation practices, harnessing the natural resources of the region to produce exceptional coffees.
The carbon footprint from this coffee's journey has been offset twice.
