Big chocolate notes for a classic Guatemalan with honeycomb sweetness and a gentle acidity that reminds us of starfruit. Thanks to white honey process, where some of the mucilage is left on the seeds during drying, there are lots of delicate notes and rich flavour to be found in this cup! Suitable for filter and espresso.

The Ventura family have been growing coffee for over five generations. The coffee farming tradition began when their grandfather started growing coffee in 1894, at a farm called Finca Rabanales (from which we had a beautiful coffee last year). Over a hundred years later, the family purchased Finca El Durazno in 2012. Rafael & Maria Elena planted coffee trees here for the first time in 2014. Before then the land was mainly used for forestry. When we asked Rafael what differences he noticed at Finca El Durazno compared to the other family farms, he replied that due to the unique climate, he had to forget everything he knew about coffee and start fresh. What he loves about coffee is that there is always something to learn.
