The Rwenzori range, ‘Mountains of the Moon’ are home to the Bakonzo tribe who have farmed the foothills for over 15 generations.
The rich volcanic soil, altitude and climate are perfect for growing specialty coffee. The lead farmer, Kananga Neckson collects cherries from 300 smallholdings to be dried in greenhouses and taken to the mill for processing.
Recent work has been carried out to help the locals improve production and quality, creating a long lasting impact for the community.
The carbon footprint from this coffee's journey has been offset twice.
