Gotiti coffee originates from Ethiopia, the birthplace of Arabica coffee and a region renowned for its rich coffee heritage. Ethiopian coffee production is shaped by the country’s three main seasons, each playing a crucial role in coffee growth and processing.
The Bega season (October to January) is the long dry period, vital for coffee harvesting and post-harvest processing. The Belg season (February to May) brings the first rains, essential for coffee flowering and the early development of coffee cherries. The Krempt season (June to September) is characterised by heavy rains from the east, supporting the final stages of fruit development and ripening. By late September, rainfall ends abruptly, allowing the cherries to ripen fully and marking the beginning of Ethiopia’s
vibrant coffee harvest season in November.
